iPhone Panorama Camera Mode

Users running the iOS5 operating system have a hidden feature that a hacker recently discovered: panorama camera mode. The mode allows the phone to take continous photos while the user pads the camera from left to right. In order to take advantage of this hack, which has been verified as working by several other hackers, your iPhone will need to be jailbroken and running iOS5. You will need to set the key “EnableFirebreak” to YES in the .plist entitled com.apple.mobileslideshow.

Most likely, Apple is still undergoing testing on the feature, hence it not being activated to the general public yet. The phone accomplishes panorama pictures by taking several shots while the user pans the phone. Then via the software, the pictures are threaded together in order to create on wide shot panorama picture. Many competing devices like the Samsung Galaxy S2 already have this feature, and it is expected that Apple enable the feature in the near future.

For those users that cannot wait to have the feature, and have a jailbroken iPhone running iOS5, do a search for Conrad Kramer and follow the directions to enable the feature. Or for those of you not wanting to hack your handset, you could always sell iPhone4 and get a new Andoid handset that already has this feature built in.
