With dozens of art and craft groups, Panorama is, among other things, a thriving arts community. Art brings joy in the making, but also in the viewing. Art is still being created during the shutdown, so we needed to come up with a way to share it with our residents and the wider community. Normally we have rotating art exhibits in the Gallery Room next to the Seventeen51 Restaurant and in the glass case at the foot of the stairs. But since those spaces aren’t accessible at this time, we decided to move our displays online. The move to virtual exhibits opened the possibility of reaching new audiences, beyond those who visit our campus. Our first virtual exhibit, which opened in September of 2020, had the theme of Celebrating Art Panorama. You can view this exhibit here: CELEBRATING ART at Panorama. Our second exhibit opened in February, with the theme of 2021: Looking Ahead. This exhibit features a wide variety of media. It can be viewed here: 2021: LOOKING AHEAD. The response to these exhibits has been overwhelmingly positive. Art can move us, unite and heal us. It is so needed in these challenging times and always.
