Panorama Pathways 5k

Our annual Pathways 5k event is a celebration of wellness, community, and fun! Participants enjoy a scenic 3.1-mile walk, jog, or ride through campus, starting at the Aquatic and Fitness Center and ending at the Pavilion, with water stations along the way.

This year’s great turnout brought together friends, families, and neighbors for a day full of excitement and connection. A highlight was the Olympia Baseball Club 12U team, who brought big energy to one of the water stations. They cheered on participants and handed out water with huge smiles.

Whether participating, volunteering, or cheering, everyone helped make the event memorable.

PB & Baby Wipe Drive

During the month of May, our residents and staff joined forces to support the Thurston County Food Bank by donating much-needed essentials. Thanks to the generosity and community spirit of everyone involved, we successfully collected 265 jars of peanut butter and 290 packs of baby wipes!

These donations will directly benefit local families, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated!

Diner Walk

Each month, Steve Pogge – our beloved guide for local hikes and excursions – leads residents on a fun and flavorful outing called the “Diner Walk.” This monthly event combines light exercise with the chance to sample some of the best diners across a three-county area, followed by a short, scenic walk.

The outing captured below featured a meal at Hob Nob Diner, followed by a walk to the Wright Park Conservatory and along the Tacoma Waterfront Trail.

Activity Fair

Each year, the Resident Council proudly sponsors the vibrant and informative Activity Fair, an event that brings our community together in the most exciting way! It’s a chance for both current and future residents to learn more about the diverse activity and hobby groups available to them here at Panorama. This year, over 70 groups were represented, each offering something special to spark passion and connection.

The fair is a place where people can discover new interests, forge friendships, and truly feel the sense of belonging that our community is built on. It’s a celebration of the countless opportunities available and a powerful reminder of how much we can grow and thrive together!

Careers in Aging

March is Careers in Aging Month, which is a time to highlight the many career opportunities in the field of aging. In honor of this, we’re spotlighting some of our staff who are passionate about making a difference.

From groundskeeping to renovations, skilled nursing to security, our staff works tirelessly to create a supportive and caring environment for our residents. Every department plays a vital role, ensuring that all aspects of life in our community run smoothly, comfortably, and safely.

2025 Dancing with the Stars

Our Dancing with the Stars event has become an annual phenomenon! Each year, four staff members and four residents are selected to pair with a talented dancer from the Utah Ballroom Dance Company, creating an unforgettable evening of performances. Every participant takes the stage to perform a specific dance style with a unique theme.

As the dancers show off their best moves, the audience can’t help but be captivated by the energy, dedication, and flair of each performance! Our panel of judges adds to the fun, always offering a mix of humorous comments and light-hearted critiques.

The event has become a beloved tradition, as residents gather in our Auditorium to cheer on their favorite pair. It doesn’t just provide great entertainment but a sense of camaraderie and joy for the community. With each year, Dancing with the Stars continues to be a spectacular celebration of talent, teamwork, and the magic of live performance. Watch the video below to see the full show!

2025 Distinguished Leader Award

We’re beyond honored to have received the Thurston County Chamber 2025 Distinguished Leadership Award! This recognition means so much to us, and we couldn’t have done it without the amazing support from our team and the community. It motivates us to keep pushing forward and making a positive impact. Watch the video below for a look into our community.

A Special Crowning

The crowning of a Valentine King and Queen was an annual event in the Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in the early 1990’s. Pictured below is Chuck Williams and Wanda Holladay, crowned in 1991. Wanda and Jesse Holladay were early residents of Panorama and the namesake of Holladay Park; Wanda founded what is now Gifts Etc. By the time this photograph was taken, Wanda was widowed and living in the C&R.

Blood Drive Success!

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we held our first Panorama Community Blood Drive in partnership with Bloodworks Northwest. Our intent in hosting this event was to commemorate Dr. King’s enduring legacy of service, compassion, and unity – and our community showed up! The schedule was filled to capacity, with over half being first-time donors.

We are so thankful to the staff and residents who contributed to this crucial need!

Chili Drive

Wow! During our October Chili Drive, residents and staff generously donated a total of 986 cans of chili, making a meaningful contribution to All Kids Win.

All Kids Win, formerly Homeless Backpacks, is a non-profit organization that provides food for the weekend to homeless teens in Thurston County. Some teens are in government-supported meal programs during the school day but lack access to food on the weekend. Each week, volunteers deliver food bags to local middle and high schools in Lacey, Tumwater and Olympia, as well as K-12 in Yelm, Rainier, Tenino and Rochester. Chili is an excellent, shelf-stable, source of protein, and the most expensive item included in the backpacks.
