We had a few acquaintances that moved to Panorama, but we really didn’t know anything about it. So we decided to visit for a tour in December of 2015, and the minute we saw the current Panorama Newsletter and the Monthly Activity Sheet, we were sold and were ready to sign the dotted line! We were even more assured when we toured the campus. We were thrilled to move into our new Panorama home in June of 2016.

Since then, I have settled into many rewarding volunteer opportunities. I volunteer at our resale store, Stiles Beach Barn. I am also an Usher at our wonderful Auditorium and I work at our beautiful Gift Shop. I have so enjoyed these times because they have given me a great chance to meet many of my neighbors from all over campus. Another great bonus is our Aquatic and Fitness Center which offers great exercise classes, pools and an exercise room.

If you are looking to stay young at heart, be surrounded by like-minded people, and find a purpose in your life, then Panorama is your next home!

When I first moved to Panorama, I wondered whether I’d done the right thing- as had many friends who moved here before. And found, as they did, that we should have moved here sooner!

Yes, Panorama has a beautiful parklike setting, friendly senior neighbors with interesting and even inspiring life histories, cheerful fix-it staff who show up the same day you call to take care of errant dishwasher alarms, stuck windows and flamed-out light bulbs, as well as great facilities for movies, swimming, workouts, lunch, music, gardening and more. Life in the Panorama community is fun, uplifting, busy, enriching, and friendly.

But foremost for me is the culture of caring.

I see street-level acts of kindness and neighborly support every day. My meetings with neighborhood representatives and Panorama managers bring monthly reminders that care for the well-being and security of residents goes right to the top and has first priority always.

We arrived at Panorama as a couple of greenhorns from our Ohio home in August 2019. Settling in, we were keenly aware of the burden lifted, no longer responsible for lawn mowing, painting, and contacting contractors. What a relief. Our home had been remodeled and included new cabinets, countertops and appliances. The next and best step happened almost effortlessly; new friends- right here in the “hood.”

With our copy of the Panorama News in hand, we began fall hikes with Steve Pogge, including day hikes on Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens to see the fall splendor. We sat outdoors at McGandy and listened to outstanding concerts in the park. We joined Panorama Bible study and met a ready-made group of like-minded boon companions. My husband volunteers on the resident council and I volunteer at the C & R, visiting anyone who needs or wants a friend. Don’t wait, come join us at Panorama

We have lived in Panorama now for 6.5 years. I guess they say time flies when you are having fun! I volunteer at the CLC (Computer Learning Center) and I have become a “traveling geek squad” around campus. This gives me a chance to meet our neighbors, hear their life stories, and help them out. I also volunteer at our Encore Furniture Sales, which benefits our Benevolent Fund, as well as helping with home clean-outs when a resident leaves.

There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t acknowledge how privileged we are to live here and take advantage of everything it offers, especially all of the 24/7 care we receive, as well as Maintenance and our Grounds staff, just a phone call away. Besides the benefit of the Continuous Care here, another benefit of living at Panorama is the peace of mind that it gives to our two daughters. With their busy lives, they know that we are safe, taken care of, and enjoying our daily lives to the fullest.

I could not think of a better place to settle down and enjoy life.
